The Accurity™ unit is managed by an iPad app developed on the iOS platform from Apple. All valves, pump and sensors are connected to the iPad tablet. The tablet is locked inside a metal case on the unit and protected by an acrylic panel.
Working with an app brings several advantages. It offers a great user experience with a known interface. Several features like dark mode/bright mode, export data possibilities, app updates from the Apple App Store are available.
The data from each measurement are saved on the tablet. When touching the export button, a CSV file containing the selected data is created. Several possibilities of file transfers can be used: save locally, save on the cloud, send by email or any other services installed on the tablet.
The user can enter all the measurement parameters and select the aluminium alloy on the tablet touch screen.
The hydrogen probe needs to be replaced after a certain time spent in liquid metal. The app records the cumulative amount of time that the probe was immersed and indicate it to the user as a "Probe age". This is very helpful to determine when a probe replacement is required to avoid wrong hydrogen measurement results.
The app also provides warning when the reading behaviour is not correct which is often due to an old probe that needs to be replaced.
During the measurement process, the Accurity™ provides guidance instructions to the user.
